Amy Roy
Artist’s Bio
Amy is a 1984 graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s College of
Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. Though her degree is in Interior
Design, her real passion lies in painting with oils on canvas. Mrs.
Phyllis Pierce, her high school art instructor, introduced Amy to this
medium . Her education flourished during her teenage years, continued
sporadically through college, and culminated after graduation with
painting classes at Cincinnati’s Art Academy under the tutelage of Mr.
Joseph Peter.
Amy’s years of commissioned work consist of landscapes and architectural
compositions in large format. Mostly, the style of these works is
photorealistic. An acoustic jazz label, “Refined Records”, retains her
to paint specially created illustrations for the company’s CD releases,
as well. Recently, Amy added smaller scaled paintings of children and
animal portraits to her portfolio.
